Plans and storage
Every feature is in the free plan; plans differ only in attachment storage and team seats.
Applies to Web · Mac · iPhone app · App Store apps are currently free · only the workspace owner changes a team plan
CommonNote doesn’t split features across plans. The editor, tasks, calendar, collaboration, export and everything else are all in the free plan. Plans differ only in attachment storage and, for team plans, the number of seats. There is no limit on how many notes you have, and text-only notes take up almost no storage.

- Prices are reference prices in Korean won, including VAT. A yearly plan costs 10 times the monthly price, so two months are free.
- Web payments are handled by Paddle, our reseller. The amount can vary by region and currency, so check the final amount at checkout. If online checkout isn’t open yet, Plan & billing shows “Online checkout is not available yet.”
- Apps downloaded from the App Store are currently free. Plan & billing only shows This app is free to use, and your current storage and features stay as they are.
- Accounts that were in use before the free limit was introduced keep 5GB with no end date under Legacy access. They see You can keep using CommonNote for free.
Current prices are also on the pricing page. Cancellation and refunds follow the Terms of Service.
Choose a plan and pay
- Click your name in the top bar (on a phone, your avatar) and choose Plan & billing.
- Under Current plan, check your plan, its status and your storage usage.
- Under Change plan, pick Monthly or Yearly · save 2 months, then the Personal or Teams tab.
- Click Continue to checkout on the plan you want, check the amount on the checkout screen and pay.
Manage your subscription or change plans
- Payment method, invoices and cancellation are under Manage billing & invoices in the Current plan section. After you cancel, you can keep using the plan until the end of the period you paid for.
- To move from one online plan to another, cancel your current subscription and choose the new plan after the paid period ends. Until then, other plans show Change after subscription ends. Switching between personal and team works the same way.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can’t delete your account while a subscription is set to renew. Cancel it first (see Delete your account).
The status badge reads Free, Trial, Active, Billing grace period, Payment needs attention, Paused, Cancelled, Expired or Legacy access.
How storage is counted
- Storage is used by attachments in your notes — photos, videos, PDFs and so on — and by images you add to a project map. Each file can be up to 50MB.
- Attachments count against the note owner’s storage. If you add a photo to someone else’s note, it uses their space. A note you create inside a notebook someone shared with you is owned by that notebook’s owner, so it uses their space too. Project map images count against the person who added them, since the map is private to them.
- On a team plan, the team’s shared space counts the attachments in notes owned by every workspace member, plus every member’s project map images.
- When you crop or rotate an image, the edit is saved as a new attachment and the original is kept, so both count.
- See your usage in the Storage section at the bottom of Account security, or in Plan & billing.
When storage is full
Going over the limit stops new attachment uploads only. Files you already uploaded are never deleted automatically, and you can keep writing, reading and exporting notes. An upload shows a message such as “Out of storage — you are using …MB of …MB.” For someone else’s note it says the note’s owner is out of storage, and for team space, “The team is out of storage.”
To free up space, reclaim attachments you no longer use.
- Open Account security and expand Manage attachment storage in the Storage section near the bottom.
- Select the files you can reclaim, click Reclaim … selected files and confirm.
- Only attachments in notes you own are listed, reclaimable files first, up to 200 at a time.
- An image you deleted from a note still counts if a saved version still uses it. A file can be reclaimed 30 days after it’s confirmed unused everywhere.
- Files in locked notes and retained records are protected and can’t be reclaimed.
- Project map images aren’t listed here. To free their space, delete the image on the project map, or delete the project group (which permanently deletes its map images).
Team seats
Seats are the number of members who can be in a team workspace. The owner invites members by email under Team members in Plan & billing and gets a seat back with Suspend access. If there are more members than seats, the extra members become read-only. See Workspace members and seats.
