These are the sizes, counts and time periods built into CommonNote, grouped by feature. When you hit a limit, the app usually tells you right there. For storage by plan, see Plans and storage.

Files and storage

One note attachment	50MB
Free plan storage	100MB (attachments, counted against the note’s owner)
Reclaiming unused attachments	Possible 30 days after a file is confirmed unreferenced; up to 200 shown at a time
Image for image-to-table (OCR)	PNG, JPG or WebP, up to 12MB and 12 megapixels
One Messenger file	200MB, deleted automatically after 24 hours
Messenger files you have in transit	Up to 400MB and 50 files in total (cleared after a day); one upload at a time
Import from another app	16MB per note request (body plus details)

Notes and editor

Version history	Saved automatically every 10 minutes; latest 50 kept, plus linked and signed versions (no manual saves)
Trash	Permanently deleted after 30 days (locked notes excepted)
Lock password	4 to 256 characters
Auto-lock time	1, 5, 15 or 30 minutes, 1 or 4 hours (default 15 minutes)
Failed unlock attempts	5 failures within 15 minutes block for 1 minute, doubling up to 15 minutes
Table created by size	Up to 1,000 rows, 100 columns and 5,000 cells; the drag grid goes up to 8×8
Split cell	1–20 rows and 1–20 columns
Find in this note	Up to 500 matches shown
`[[` note link and `@` mention suggestions	8 each
Snippets	200 snippets; name 60 characters, shortcut 24, content 20,000
Alias for a shared notebook	80 characters

Tasks and calendar

Recurring task text	200 characters; weekday rules only
Personal marking name	1–12 characters
Statuses	Name 20 characters; 40 active statuses
Custom properties in the calendar table	32 (128 including archived); 100 options per select
Alarms	Text 120 characters; 200 pending alarms; up to 366 days ahead
Weekly timetable	Entry name 60 characters; 200 entries per person
Sending a timetable to a colleague	50 entries at a time, memo 200 characters; expires 30 days after sending unless saved (previewing doesn’t extend it)
Apple Calendar import	Each recurring series expands to at most 400 occurrences; subscription link file 2MB (large imports are sent in batches automatically)
Project materials	500 per project

Account and teams

Failed sign-ins	5 free, then waits of 10 s → 30 s → 2 min → 5 min → 15 min → 1 hour; resets after 24 hours without a failure
Staying signed in	Up to 30 days; signed out after 14 days unused
Sign-up confirmation link / password reset link	24 hours / 1 hour
Workspace email invitation	Valid for 7 days
Team plan seats	Team 25GB: 5; Team 50GB: 15

Markdown API
