commonnote:// deep links
A commonnote:// link opens the app straight to a calendar day, the dashboard, a note or a task. Widgets use the same links.

Links that start with commonnote:// open the CommonNote app and take you straight to a specific screen. They’re the same links widgets use when you tap them, so they also work from Shortcuts, launchers, links in other apps and scripts.

- Malformed or unknown links are ignored. If the date isn’t in the right format, it is ignored the same way as a missing date.
- Links must be 2,048 bytes or less and can’t contain control characters.
- If the app isn’t running, it opens to that screen once it has started.
- Find a note id after
?note=in the address you get from right-clicking a note in the note list and choosing Copy share link, or in theidfield of the Markdown API list response. Task ids are mainly used by widgets.
Try it
- Install the Mac app (see Use the Mac app).
- In Terminal, run
open "commonnote://calendar?view=calendar". - CommonNote comes to the front with the month calendar open.
On iPhone, put the same link in an Open URL action in the Shortcuts app. The iPhone app is currently in App Store review (see iPhone app and Live Activities).
In a browser
commonnote:// links open only on a device with the app installed. In the web app, these addresses do the same thing.

A link only opens a screen; it doesn’t grant access. If you receive a link to a note you can’t see, it won’t open. To work on a note together, share it.
